Just put it in the mail!

Nobody enjoys driving in Houston. We are not surprised when our clients choose to send their documents to us via the old-fashioned snail mail. We are also not surprised when their packages take weeks to make it to our office or never make it at all.

Check out this old viral video or this other one or this news report to learn one possible reason for your mail being lost. Kinda gives a new meaning to “drop this in the mail”, right?

Newman Another reason is Newman. Remember Newman the Postman from the Seinfeld TV show? He could not and would not deliver the mail to the right places. In fact, when Jerry subbed for Newman once and delivered all the mail properly, Newman got mad at Jerry.

Well, apparently Newman works in my office building. We know that, and they know that. The management company was thoughtful enough to put this well-known fact in writing, frame it and feature permanently in our mail room. 9660 Mailroom No, this is not a joke, it is a real sign in my building. Every week one of my neighbors bring me my mail delivered to their office instead of mine. Even though the mail boxes and the mail are numbered. Thanks, Newman.

2014 USPS package
And when you request that we mail your documents to you, and we balk at your request – here is why. We recently mailed a package to one of our local but mobility-limited clients. 2-day Priority Mail. Houston to Houston. Six days later, this is what the USPS tracking system told us – see the screenshot below. Yes, this package ended up in Atlanta, GA.

So yes, just drop it in the mail. It will be fine. Promise.
